Getting back into the swing of things. August 24, 2008

It's August and that means it is time to officially start our homeschool :) This year we are doing things a bit differently...

Our curriculum is Switched on Schoolhouse and I will be supplementing with: A Reason For Handwriting, Exploring God's Creation, A History of US (Prehistory - 1600), Horizon's Math and Learning Langusge Arts through Literature.

Brooke has already started the SOS and we both love it but I felt that supplementing or adding to it isn't hurting anything.

One exciting thing we are planning to do this year is to take some sort of field trip at least once a week and even though we are too far to go to our old homeschool group we do plan on attending their once a month field trips which should be very fun. Brooke really misses our old homeschool group but it's a 45 minute drive away and with gas prices the way they are it's just too costly to make it once a week :(

So tomorrow is our first official day and I am so looking forward to getting back on a regular schedule.

Well I am off to get everything in order and finish working on our schedule, I'll post it as soon as I get it completed :)
